I make these boater style sun hats from scratch using 100% natural raffia leaves, harvested and dried from the raffia palm tree, making it a great sustainable material to work with. It crochets to form a solid and shapable material so can be worked to style more to your preference even once it has arrived - try with rim upturned, down etc.
I can also offer embellishment options such as a ribbon tie, raffia tie, raffia flower feature or elements of colour with yarn. Open to experimenting with other ideas too, if you have something in mind let me know!
Each hat takes 18-20hrs working time so please allow 2 weeks before delivery.

Raffia is 100% organic plant-based material. Drying and working into tight knit crochet promotes its tensile strength and waterproof qualities, making it a very sturdy and usable product. However, it is biodegradable at the end of its life so take care to dry out if it does ever get caught in a shower and store in a cool, dry place.
